Stages of Software Development

Software development involves several stages that ensure the structured creation of a successful project. Below are the key stages:

  1. Requirements Analysis and Gathering
The project’s goals and functionality are discussed with the client, and requirements are gathered and analyzed. This phase involves identifying the needs of end users, technical specifications, constraints, and client preferences.

  2. Technical Specification (SRS – Software Requirements Specification)
The gathered requirements are documented in a technical specification. This document serves as the foundation for the development team and precisely describes how the software should function.

  3. Design
In this stage, the software architecture, user interface (UI), database design, and the structure of modules and components are defined. A design document is created, which serves as a blueprint for the coding phase.

  4. Programming (Coding)
The core functionality of the software is developed in this phase. The development team uses various technologies to write the software. The project is divided into components, and these may be developed in parallel.

  5. Testing and Quality Assurance
Various tests are conducted to ensure the software works correctly and meets all requirements: functional tests, integration tests, stress tests, etc. Any bugs or errors that are found are fixed.

  6. Integration and Deployment
Once the software is fully developed, it is deployed for the users. This phase involves installing the software on servers or the client's infrastructure and making it available for use.

  7. Support and Updates
After the software is deployed, ongoing support is provided to address technical issues and implement user feedback. Plans are made for updates and future versions of the software.

These stages are crucial for the successful development and release of a software product.
